Day 1 – Ljubljana
Arrival at Slovenia´s capital and largest city. One of Europe’s greenest cities. You will enjoy strolling through its irresistibly attractive centre with numerous cafes along the emerald-greenLjubljanicariver. Visit Ljubljana Castle. On the hill with a view of the surroundings for over 900 years.
Day 2 – Ljubljana to Logatec (40km, 25mi, 1700ft)
Leaving the capital, you will ride through idyllic and quaint villages, cycle on quiet roads, surrounded by green fields, hills and farms.
Day 3 – Logatec to Postojna (36km, 23mi, 1680ft)
Another meandering cycling day will lead you to Postojna, a place with two world-class attractions; Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle. The world famous Queen of the Caves is awe-inspiring and become one of the most visited places in Slovenia.
Day 4 – Postojna to Divača (40km, 25mi, 1840ft)
Today you will see the Predjama castle, one of the most picturesque castles in Slovenia. Built into an overhanging rock in a karst cave. The cycling winding route continues through fascinating Karst landscape, mingled with settlements and vineyards.
Day 5 – Divača to Muggia (Italy) (39km, 25mi, 1150ft)
Today you’ll cycle to the beautiful Škocjan Caves, which have been included in the World Heritage List (UNESCO) since 1986. After visiting the caves, you’ll be crossing the Slovenian-Italian border to arrive at the Bay of Muggia.
Day 6 – Muggia to Strunjan (42km, 26mi, 1640ft).
Scenic and glorious cycling from the Italian to Slovenian. A perfect finish to the magnificent Grand Slovenia tour.
